Applegate's

We were married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple December 2005. Since then we have had many adventures: studying at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand, visiting my family in the Dominican Republic, Kade was a Huntsman Scholar and traveled to Paris, Brussels, London, Washington D.C. and New york. We have a two year old little girl that keeps me busy. She is such a little diva princess. Both of us graduated from USU. Kade received a double Bachelor's in International Business and Economics. Amanda graduated in Sociology. Kade is now working towards an MBA at BYU.

Elder Jackman

I set up a blog for my brother on a mission. I am so proud of him, he works so hard. I post emails and pictures he sends. You can check it out at www.elderjackman.blogspot.com. You can click on the picture of Marcus on the side of my blog.

Please don't leave us summer.

We have been having fun outdoors. Annie and I can't spend an entire day without playing outside. Lately we have been enjoying the pool at our new apartment. Thanks to my mom Annie now has the cool arm rings so she can swim all by herself. On Labor day we went fishing at Teapot lake in the Uintahs. We had a lot of success and Annie caught her first fish on her princess pole, she still talks about it. I am not going to admit it is fall or even pull out decorations until I have to. Annie and I are holding onto summer for as long as we can.

And Finally My New Hair Cut

Okay so I just took the pictures of myself with my phone so they really are not the greatest, but they will give you the idea of what my hair looks like now. My decision - I am in love with it, don't think I can go back to longer hair now. Kade - he loves it too. Annie - tells me everyday she likes my new hair, that it is pretty. Guess I will keep it (not that I could go back :))

Help!

I really need to change my hair. I like my long hair but it is so hard to manage. For anyone who knows me really well knows I have really thick hair which is hard to do. I also am a perfectionist so every morning I have to wash, dry and straighten it. I am exhausted and stressed out with it. I am thinking of a short stylish do. I need help with decisions and I want honest opinions if you think they will look good on me and if I will be able to pull off this kind of style. Kade says I have a long neck which makes my hair look even shorter, I don't know if this is good or bad. Let me know what you think. Here are a few ideas:

also I will most likely be dying it too, a combo of blonde and dark, maybe a little purple thrown in.

A Calling

I am so excited to share the really good news that my younger brother has received his mission call. He will be serving in the San Antonio, Texas Spanish speaking mission. He will leave in October. I am very sad to see him go for two years, we will definitely miss him but I know the people in San Antonio will be blessed to have him there. I am so proud of him for keeping himself worthy and making the sacrifice to serve a mission. I know he his going to have an incredible time and be blessed.
When I was little I thought it was easy for men to serve a mission, they were asked to and so they should do it (isn't everything so much simpler when you are little). I saw a lot of my older cousins and neighbors leave on missions and thought everyone did it. I now realize the true sacrifice of time and how hard of a decision this can be which makes me appreciate those who go on a mission even more. My brother is going to be such an amazing missionary, the people he teaches are going to be so lucky. Marcus I really look up to you for your decision and good luck to you. Love you!

Oh my!

It sure has been awhile since I have been on here. We have gone awhile without the internet at home and now finally have it again. We are coming up on some big changes for our family. In just a few weeks we will be saying good bye to Logan and calling Pleasant Grove our new home. There are some of you that are cheering about this news and others hoping the day doesn't come. I am more with those of you not wanting it to come. I really love Logan, it has been my home for the past six and a half years. I have grown very attached to little Cache Valley. I have some incredible friends here that I can't imagine living away from. I love Utah State and living close to my school and being able to attend events there from time to time. But I do love new adventures and we will be closer to family so that makes the move a little easier.

Why are we moving you ask, well this part is exciting. After a lot of work and more to come Kade was accepted into the MBA program at BYU. I am very proud of him and I know by him getting his masters he can move up in his career and get a good job that he really enjoys. However, I am not very excited for the process. He is going to become a very busy man. Right now his job isn't very demanding and he gets off at 3:30 giving us a lot of play time, yes I am very spoiled and I don't feel ready to give this up yet. The program is only 20 months and then we are done with school for good so I think I can do this.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

I love the snow and was a bit worried about the lack of it recently. I sure hope we can keep it around until Christmas.
Annie and I sure enjoyed playing in the snow the other day for almost two hours. We shoveled it off our driveway (such a great workout). Then stomped in it, I guess that is hilarious to an 18 month old. I also taught her to eat it and all the sudden snow was so yummy. I love watching her enjoy new experiences.

My little helper

Lately Annie wants to do everything I am doing, especially working in the kitchen. One of her favorites is to sweep the floor it hapens daily at our house. She also loves doing the dishes with me, which really means splash water ALL OVER and wipe soapy bubbles on me. We really have a fun time though. The other day she helped us make oreo cookies, we had a great time. She loved stirring the dough, watching them bake in the oven and best of all eating them. I just love my little helper.

Halloween

Better late than never. Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. We cancelled our internet on the computer and I have been trying to figure out how to post from my phone.
We had a very fun halloween with our cute little kitty (she would even meow). Kade's work did trick or treating at the office, Annie enjoyed it better than door to door on Saturday.
We also had a party with friends Sunday. Thanks for all the fun to everyone who came.

July was a fun and busy month. We enjoyed going the the Stadium of Fire for the 4th. Our neice Maylee was blessed. Annie and I had a lot of fun swimming almost everyday. That little girl is such a fish. And the fun doesn't end we have more fun coming in August. I love the Summer! OH and Annie learned how to walk. She is such a big girl, she loves her new freedom.

DR Vacation

Well I guess I am not done blogging, I wanted to share about our awesome trip to visit my family. We had an amazing time with them. We really enjoyed the warm weather. There are a lot of pictures because we were able to do so much there and I had a hard time picking which ones to put up. We had so much fun taking Annie to the beach for her fist time. She loves animals especially fish so it was fun to watch her enjoy the aquarium there. We were also able to go on a snorkeling day trip while my mom watched Annie. The highlight was swimming right up to an eagle ray. My favorite was spending the weekend at a resort with my family. There was also plenty of time for relaxing by their pool and reading, making jewelry with my mom, playing games, eating out and we did make it to a Christopher Columbus museum. It was in my dictionary the perfect vacation.
